Cannabidiol (CBD) and what it really is

Cannabidiol (CBD) is an organic compound and one of at least 85 cannabinoids contained in Cannabis It is an important phytocannabinoid, accounting for 40% of the hemp plant extract and used in a wide range of medical applications. Due to its therapeutic properties, the use of Cannabidiol in consumer products has been legalised since 2017 in Greece and is now legal in most developed countries. Despite its presence in the Cannabis plant, cannabidiol is
not a narcotic substance and does not cause addiction; therefore, it can be consumed by children, the elderly, even animals.

Cannabidiol is proven to be the most therapeutic component of the plant and there is no documented research to prove otherwise. In fact, there are hundreds of scientific studies, as well as personal experiences of people with serious illnesses and conditions, that demonstrate how beneficial CBD is.

Differences between CBD and THC

THC is the component of cannabis that affects the mood and is known for its intense psychoactive effect on the human body. This is what causes the feeling of intense relaxation. CBD on the other hand, is the exact opposite. Cannabidiol is proven to be the most therapeutic component of the plant and there is no documented research to prove otherwise. In fact, there are hundreds of scientific studies, as well as personal experiences of people with serious illnesses and conditions, that demonstrate how beneficial CBD is. However, despite its reputation and the prejudice that exists, the substance of tetrahydrocannabinol has also a medical value, even anti-cancer properties, as it can act on cancer cells. According to scientific research done on laboratory animals, THC can reduce the growth of cancerous tumors.
